Electrical Safety
Objective
To ensure electrical installations are safe for tenants and residents.
To ensure the Council has NICEIC Accreditation
Arrangements
- Carry out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR) every 5 years.
- C1 and C2 remedial works completed within 28 days or sooner if required.
- Domestic premises and Communal Area inspections every 5 years.
- Apply to the Court for an access warrant should access by a tenant be refused
- Carry out smoke alarm testing where applicable
- Emergency lighting:
- Annual full discharge test
- Quarterly visual inspections
- Use of suitable qualified engineers only
