Exceptional Hardship Policy

As part of the process of applying for additional support from the Exceptional Hardship Fund; applicants: 

1. cannot claim if they have more than £1,000 in capital as the claimant will be considered as having the financial means to meet their liability;
2. must fully complete an application for assistance using the Authority’s approved form, providing all details of their income, capital and expenditure, and any further details requested, the form can be made available in different formats;
3. must claim all discounts, exemptions and reductions they are entitled to;
4. must tell the Authority of any changes in circumstances, within 21 days, that may be relevant to their ongoing claim.
