Work related study programme
Connexions North Tyneside work with local training providers who offer study programmes.
A study programme gives real, hands-on experience in an employment environment to learn in-work skills. It can be a stepping stone to an apprenticeship or employment to help someone become work ready, so study programmes are aimed at young people who don’t yet have the appropriate skills or experience to step straightaway into employment or an Apprenticeship.
Every study programme has a different vocational focus. Once the best fit study programme has been identified for the learner, the training provider will discuss learner needs and advise on what support can be provided.
On successful completion of a study programme, learners can make a positive next step into employment, an apprenticeship, training or further education.
A study programme is not paid, but the training provider will outline any financial support or incentive for learners taking part. Examples include travel expenses or a lunch voucher which is not means tested.
Most study programmes don't have entry requirements, but it is always best to check with individual providers for the most up to date information
