How is my Council Tax Reduction paid?
If I am entitled, how is it paid?
Your entitlement reduces the amount of council tax you need to pay, and you will receive a new Council Tax bill which will show the reduced amount.
When will my entitlement start?
A claim will usually start from the Monday after the date you submit it. In some cases, we may be able to start your entitlement earlier.
If you need your claim to be backdated, you must request this on your application form when you first apply, or when you receive your decision notice.
