Objectives of the policy
This policy sets out how we will respond to and manage requests for aids and adaptations. Key objectives of this policy are to enable tenants and permanent household members to:
- live independently in their home with privacy and dignity
- continue to live independently and comfortably in their home for as long as possible or, if this is not possible or practical, to provide advice about finding a suitable alternative property
- be aware of all the options open to them when accessing the aids and adaptions service
and to ensure that we:
- make best use of our existing housing stock
- deliver a cost effective and accessible aids and adaptations service.
