VARIOUS NORTH TYNESIDE LOCATIONS, AUGUST

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2026

North Tyneside Council gives notice that it intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make Orders under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Orders prohibits all through traffic on the following, and as and when signage indicates:

 

North Shields

Laet Street Lane At Side. 

An alternate route is available via Sibthorpe Street, Laet Street, Yeoman Street Lane. With access to be given to residents/refuge. 

The proposed temporary Order is required to excavate on existing stop tap and adjacent service to renew with boundary box and meter.

The Order will come into force on 17th August 2026 for a period not exceeding 4 days.

Palmersville

The footpath to the side of number 28 Great Lime Road. 

An alternate route is available via the adjacent footpaths. 

The proposed temporary Order is required to excavate on existing stop tap and adjacent service to renew with boundary box and meter.

The Order will come into force on 11th August 2026 for a period not exceeding 4 days.

Tynemouth

Percy Park Lane from the junction with Percy Park to the rear of 10 The Drive. 

An alternate route is available via Percy Park, Grand Parade, Parkside, Abbey Drive, Percy Park Lane. 

The proposed temporary Order is required to install 1 new BT telegraph pole.

The Order will come into force on 25th August 2026 for a period not exceeding 3 days.

Wallsend

Side of 31 Welwyn Close to at the rear of 30 Welwyn Close

An alternate route is available via n site signage

The proposed temporary Order is required to facilitate ducting works as minimum width cannot be maintained for pedestrians

The Order will come into force on 10th August 2026 for a period not exceeding 5 days.

Whitley Bay

Maple Avenue from the junction with Sycamore Avenue to the junction with Chestnut Avenue. 

An alternate route is available via Chestnut Avenue, Hillheads Road, Sycamore Avenue

The proposed temporary Order is required for a CCTV survey to the sewer.

The Order will come into force on 27th August 2026 for a period not exceeding 1 day.
