North Tyneside Council gives notice that it proposes that:
- In accordance with Section 90C of the Highways Act 1980 it proposes to remove one set of speed cushions on Station Road, Backworth at a point 20 metres south east of its junction with Harle Road.
- In accordance with Section 23(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 it proposes to remove a signalised crossing on Station Road, Backworth at a point 20 metres south east of its junction with Harle Road.
The proposed removal of the disused pelican crossing and speed cushions as detailed above is associated with the provision of a new informal pedestrian crossing and “give and take” traffic calming feature at this location.
