(PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND LOADING) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2025 (ON STREET PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2025 VARIATION ORDER 2026

THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF NORTH TYNESIDE

North Tyneside Council gives notice that it proposes to make a variation order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the order, if made, will be to vary the following orders as detailed below:

 

A. the North Tyneside (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading) (Consolidation) Order 2025, so that:

1.   no waiting at any time restrictions be introduced on the following lengths of road:

a. Farringdon Road, Cullercoats on both sides, from a point 80 metres west of its junction with Thirlmere Avenue to a point 100 metres west of that junction.

b. Park Grove, Shiremoor on both sides, from its junction with Park Lane, to a point 7 metres east of that junction.

c. Park Lane, Shiremoor on its East side, from a point 7 metres south of its junction with Park Grove, to a point 9 metres north of that junction.

d. Ridley Ave (access road to properties 102 – 136), Wallsend on both sides, from its junction with Ridley Ave, to a point 15 metres north east of that junction.

e. Ridley Ave, Wallsend on its North east side, from a point 9 metres north west of its junction with Ridley Ave (access road to properties 102 – 136), to a point 8 metres south east of that junction.

f. Station Square, Whitley Bay 

  • North side, from a point 16 metres west of its junction with the lane to the rear of Trewitt Road/Station Road to its junction with Victoria Terrace;
  • North side, from a point 14 metres east of its junction with the lane to the rear of Trewitt Road/Station Road, to its junction with Station Road.

g. Wesley Way, Holystone

  • North west side, from a point 48 metres north then 68 metres north east of its junction with Wesley Drive for a distance of 15 metres in a north easterly direction;
  • South east side, from a point 46 metres north then 37 metres north east of its junction with Wesley Drive for a distance of 61 metres in a north easterly direction.

h) Whitley Road, Holystone on its North west side, from a point 54 metres north east of its junction with Holystone Drive, to a point 92 metres north east of that junction.

2. no waiting at any time restrictions on the following roads be amended so that they apply to the following extents:

a)  Churchill Street, Wallsend on its West side, from its junction with Coniston Road to a point 37 metres north of that junction.

b)  Frank Street, Wallsend on its North side, from its junction with Carville Road to a point 21 metres east of that junction.

c)   Nile Street, North Shields on its East side, from its junction with Albion Road to a point 13 metres south of that junction.

d)  St. George's Road, Cullercoats on its North east side, from its junction with Marden Avenue to a point 12 metres north-west  of that junction.

3. no stopping on school entrance markings between 8.15am – 9.15am and 3pm – 4pm, Monday to Friday be amended so that they apply to the following extents:

a) Churchill Street, Willington (Churchill Community College) on its West side, from a point 37 metres north of its junction with Coniston Road to a point 123 metres north of that junction.

b) Wallsend Road (A193), North Shields (St Joseph’s RC Primary School) on its South side, from a point 31 metres west of its junction with Cartington Road, in an easterly direction for a distance of 57 metres.

4. no stopping on school entrance markings between 8–9 am and 2.30-3.30pm, Monday to Friday be introduced on the following lengths of road:

a) Alnwick Avenue, North Shields on its North side, from a point 119 metres east of its junction with Norham Road to its junction with Biddlestone Crescent.

b) Biddlestone Crescent, North Shields on its West side, from its junction with Alnwick Avenue in a northerly direction for a distance of 187 metres.

5. No Loading and Unloading at any Time on All Days be introduced on the following length of road:

a) Front Street, Benton on its North side, from its junction with Back Cheviot View Access Road to a point 8 metres west of that junction.

 

B. the North Tyneside (On Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2025 so that:

  1. Permit Holder Parking Places - Marked Bays be amended so that they operate all days, all hours and form part of Zone TM1:

    a) Percy Gardens (North), Tynemouth 

    • South side, from a point 45 metres south-east of its junction with Hotspur Street to a point 88 metres south-east of that junction.
    • South side, from a point 102 metres south-east of its junction with Hotspur Street to a point 150 metres south-east of that junction.
