THE PLAYHOUSE AND PARK ROAD CAR PARKS, WHITLEY BAY

(Off Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2025 and (On Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2025 Variation Orders 2025

North Tyneside Council gives notice that it proposes to make variation orders under Sections 32, 35 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the orders, if made, will be to vary the following orders as detailed below:

  1. Amendments to the Council of the Borough of North Tyneside (Off Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2025:
    1. Parking Places – Off Street Car Parks – A charged parking tariff on all days 9am to 6pm, be amended so that they apply to the following extents:
      1. The Playhouse, Marine Gardens, Whitley Bay – situated on the North West side of Marine Gardens adjacent to Park Road and North East of no 8 Marine Gardens.
      2. Park Road Car Park, Whitley Bay – situated on the east side of Park Road opposite Coquet Avenue.
  2. Amendments to the Council of the Borough of North Tyneside (On Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2025:
  • Introduce a charge for the first Resident Parking Permit in shared-use parking permit schemes i.e. a pay and display restriction with an exemption to the charge for valid permit holders, and for this charge to be set at £30 per annum.
