NORTH TYNESIDE 10KM ROAD RACE

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2026 TOWN POLICE CLAUSES ACT 1847

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that North Tyneside Council will make the following Order on 10 March 2026.

Under the provisions of section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847, North Tyneside Council hereby order that between the hours of 08.45 – 11.45am on Sunday 5 April 2026 the following regulations will be observed to prevent obstruction of the following streets during the time of public event:-

A rolling closure will take place along:

  • Howdon Road at the Junction of George Stephenson Way
  • Howdon Road at the junction of Minton Lane & Coach Lane
  • Dock Road
  • Dock Road at the junction of Lawson Street West
  • Dock Road at the junction of Prince Consort Way
  • Link Road from Dock Road to Juke Street
  • Link Road from Dock Road to Juke Street at the junction of The Plateau
  • Juke Street and New Quay
  • Clive Street at the junction of Borough Road
  • Clive Street at the junction of Bedford Street
  • Liddell Street
  • Bell Street
  • Union Quay
  • Union Road at the junction of Brewhouse Bank
  • Clifford Street at the junction of Union Road
  • Pier Road (Tynemouth)
  • Clifford Fort
  • Cycle Lane at St Mary’s Lighthouse & Cullercoats 

Dock Road will be closed from the junction of the former Smiths Dock and the Howdon Road from 6am to 11.30am.

The parking restriction at the car park at the Parks Sports Centre will be suspended from 7am to 1pm on Sunday 5 April 2026.

The approach road to St Mary’s Lighthouse and car park will also be closed from 5am to approximately 1pm on Sunday 5 April 2026.

Mini golf car park will also be closed from 5am to approximately 1pm on Sunday 5 April 2026.

There is no alternative route for this rolling closure. The penalty for infringement of the above regulation is a fine.
