Hazards and rules

  • Bathing is not advised at this beach due to poor water quality
  • Beware of the rising tide
  • Beware of large breaking waves on piers
  • Beware of motorised craft
  • Beware of leisure watercraft
  • Do not kite surf
  • Do not launch motorised watercraft or jet skis on the north side of the bay
  • Do not use inflatables when wind is blowing out to sea
  • Children must be supervised especially near the water
  • Only swim in lifeguard supervised area between the red and yellow flags
  • Do not swim when red flags are flying
  • Do not swim in the motorised leisure craft launch area on the south side of the bay

Motorised leisure watercraft launch scheme in place - a valid permit is required to launch in the bay.  Permits can be obtained form the scheme provider via the kiosk on the north access ramp, or by email: dimasciosandro@yahoo.co.uk

  • May to September: 10am - 6pm

Dog access

  • Dogs are not permitted on this beach between 1 May - 30 September

Beach code of conduct

  • Please don't take glass bottles onto the beach
  • Please take litter home, recycle it or put it in the bins provided
  • Take dogs only to permitted areas of the beach; keep them under close control; clean up and dispose of mess in the bins provided
  • Bag and bin sanitary items, nappies and plastic products; do not dispose of them down the toilet
  • Camping is not permitted
  • Driving of unauthorised vehicles is not permitted
  • Please only launch and retrieve motorised leisure craft in the permitted launch zones on appropriate beaches
