Records we keep
We keep records of the council's land and property interests in North Tyneside, but not council housing. We don't hold records of private ownership. This information is held by the Land Registry.
Land ownership enquiries
If you would like information about our land or property, email strategic.property@northtyneside.gov.uk.
To help us find the right area include:
- the address
- a plan or sketch of the area
- any other information you think will help us find it
Wayleaves, Easements and Surveys
We also manage requests relating to wayleaves, easements and survey access on Council-owned land. These arrangements may be required to enable utility providers, developers and other organisations to undertake surveys, install infrastructure, and access equipment for inspection, maintenance and operational purposes.
Our team can assist with:
- New wayleave agreements
- Easements and rights for service infrastructure
- Survey access licences and permissions
- Amendments to existing agreements
- Access rights relating to utilities and service equipment
We work with utility companies, statutory undertakers, developers, consultants and residents to facilitate the appropriate rights and permissions required for projects affecting Council land.
