Our caring Community Occupational Therapy team helps residents live as independently as possible, with the right support in place at the right time.
Last year alone, the team carried out 3,381 assessments, made 3,142 referrals, and completed 3,094 allocations across the borough. Every one of those numbers represents someone getting the help they need to stay safe, well and independent at home.
Community OTs can arrange all kinds of equipment to make daily life easier - things like bath lifts, perching stools, adapted cutlery, grab rails, and other practical aids. They also support residents with home adaptations, including level‑access showers, through‑floor lifts, ground‑floor extensions, Closomat toilets and fencing. These changes can make a huge difference to people’s comfort, confidence and independence.
The team is skilled, compassionate and focused on working closely with residents and families to understand their needs.
