From Longbenton to North Shields, Adderstone Living is investing in North Tyneside's future - delivering two schemes for North Tyneside Council that reflect a shared commitment to the Borough as a whole: 36 affordable homes in Longbenton, and a separate children's home in North Shields providing rooms for children and young people.
Work on the 36 affordable homes is already underway on Benton Lane, close to Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter. Construction of the children's home in Highgate Terrace, North Shields is due to begin next month, with the scheme expected to take around 18 months to complete.
Demand for the children's home is already clear - every bed has been allocated ahead of the building's completion, underlining the scale of need for this kind of local provision in the borough.
Stephen McCoy, Chief Executive Officer at Adderstone Living said: "These two schemes, though in two different parts of the borough, are about the same thing - giving people across North Tyneside the chance to build their lives here.

This new children's home in North Shields will increase our capacity to provide high-quality care within the Borough, helping us achieve that aim and ensuring more young people can grow up in a familiar and supportive environment."
Adderstone Living supports the communities in which it works, with activity extending beyond the delivery of new homes and buildings. As part of this approach, the team has supported initiatives across North Tyneside, including sponsoring the Council's Children's Homes and Supported Accommodation Celebration Fortnight - a two-week programme of events across seven homes recognising the staff and children at the heart of those services.
The 36 affordable homes are forecast to complete in August 2027, with the children's home also expected to open in 2027. Together, the two schemes reflect Adderstone Living's growing commitment across North Tyneside - from Longbenton to North Shields - providing new homes and additional local provision that support communities right across the borough.
