Annual “Get Up and Go” apprenticeship fair returns

Crowds gather at North Tyneside's apprenticeship fair

Our popular “Get Up and Go” apprenticeship fair will return this February as part of National Apprenticeship Week 2026, which runs from 9 to 15 February.

The annual event forms a key part of our celebration of apprenticeships, recognising their positive impact on learners, employers and the wider community.

Organised by our Employment and Skills Service, the fair brings together employers and training providers in the borough to offer opportunities across a wide range of sectors.

Stalls will be available for a range of opportunities and organisations including:

  • North Tyneside Council – information on a range of upcoming apprenticeship opportunities
  • NHS – opportunities across healthcare, engineering, and business administration
  • Accenture – digital and technology apprenticeship programmes
  • Tyne Powered – support for a range of opportunities along the Tyne
  • Local training providers – apprenticeships and courses in motor vehicle repair, hair and beauty, early years, construction, and health and social care
  • Armed Forces – a wide variety of career and training pathways

It is the ideal opportunity for those interested in apprenticeships to meet organisations face-to-face, learn about current and upcoming roles and understand the different routes into training and employment.

The event is open to anyone interested in exploring apprenticeships as a first career step, a change of direction or a chance to retrain.

The Get Up and Go fair will take place on Saturday 14 February 2026 from 9.30am to 12.30pm at The Quadrant, Cobalt Business Park, The Silverlink North, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE27 0BY.

Visitors are welcome to drop in at any time during the session.

Councillor Steven Phillips, Cabinet Member for Education, Employment and Skills at North Tyneside Council, said: “Supporting people into good jobs, training and lifelong learning is a priority for the council, and apprenticeship opportunities are an important part of that commitment.

“The Get Up and Go Apprenticeship fair is a fantastic opportunity for anyone thinking about their next steps. Bringing together employers, training providers and residents in one place makes it easier than ever to discover what’s on offer and how to get started.

“Whether you’re just starting out, looking to retrain or hoping to take the next step in your career, the fair is a great chance to find out more and everyone is welcome to come along.”

By bringing together exhibitors from a variety of industries, the event offers valuable insights into the structure of apprenticeships, the qualifications they provide and the practical skills they help individuals develop
