We are extremely proud to celebrate Julie’s incredible achievement in being awarded an OBE for services to Children, Families and Young People.
Julie has dedicated her career to making a real difference in the lives of young people and their families, and this honour is a testament to her passion and commitment.
Julie started her career in social work here in North Tyneside before working elsewhere. In 2018 she rejoined us as an assistant director and a few years later she became our Director of Children’s Services.
In January 2025, Julie led the Children’s Services to an outstanding Ofsted judgement and has always been passionate about ensuring the voices of children is at the centre of everything we do.
Her framework of what she wanted for children is ‘a safe, happy, healthy life’ and in her career she has achieved that for hundreds of young people.
As Julie retires, we thank her for her outstanding contribution and wish her all the very best for the future.
