Adopt North East launches heartfelt Christmas Appeal for children waiting for forever homes

Adopt North East colleagues stand around a Christmas tree featuring 41 pink baubles

This Christmas, while many families gather around their trees, too many children across the North East will spend the festive season hoping for the gift of a loving, permanent home.

Adopt North East has unveiled a symbol of this reality in its office. A Christmas tree adorned with 41 baubles, each one representing a child waiting to be adopted.

Nik Flavell, Senior Manager at Adopt North East, said:

Christmas is a time of joy and togetherness. Sadly, too many children in our region will celebrate this Christmas waiting for their forever family. Each bauble represents one of the children Adopt North East is seeking to find a family for. We are confident there are people throughout the region who could change the life of a child by considering adoption.

“My Christmas challenge is a simple one – if you are interested in adoption, please give Adopt North East a call.

Adoption will change not only the life of a child but also your own. If you want next Christmas to look, sound and feel different – take the first step, give us a call”

The appeal highlights the urgent need for adoptive families, particularly for children who wait the longest including those in sibling groups, older children, and those with additional needs.

If you’ve ever thought about adoption, now is the time to take the first step.
