Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 - LOLER Certificates

The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (often abbreviated to LOLER) place duties on people and companies who own, operate or have control over lifting equipment. This includes all businesses and organisations whose employees use lifting equipment, whether owned by them or not.  The regulations require that the inspection interval is 6 months, for lifting equipment and any associated accessories used to lift people. Any licensed vehicles containing this equipment should provide evidence of a LOLER inspection report every 6 months.

North Tyneside Council offers a service to carry out LOLER testing.  Test appointments must be made directly with the Authority’s Test Station on 0191 643 6586.  The inspection fee is £38.00.
