Heat your home well
- Turn the thermostat down by 1°C. It could cut your heating bills by up to 10%.
- Replace an old boiler (15 years old or more) with a high efficiency boiler to cut down on your heating by up to a third.
- Use an electric storage heater and Economy 7 electricity tariff to save heat for future use. Adjust these to be appropriate for the weather.
- "Bleed" your radiators if they are not heating up properly, or if they have cold patches at the bottom. Make sure to follow a guide when doing this.
- Move your furniture away from vents and radiators so warm air can circulate around your home.
