Before you book a collection
If the item is in reasonable condition, you could donate it to a charity shop or list it on an online re-use network.
If it is household waste, you can take it to the tip to dispose of for free.
Council tenants are entitled to two free bulky waste collections per year.

Large loads or heavy items
£48 per item
This could be:
- a piano
- bathroom suite
- garage door
- dismantled shed
- large trampoline
- or similar sized items
Large items
£12 per item
This could be:
- an armchair
- sofa
- divan bed (double or single)
- mattress
- boiler
- radiator
- washing machine
- or other similar sized item
Small items
Up to 6 items £12 | Seven to 12 items £24 | 13 to 18 items £36 | Any more £48
This could be:
- a vacuum cleaner
- dining chair
- microwave
- ironing board
- child's bike
- or other similar sized items
Garden rubbish
Up to 6 bags £12 | Seven to 12 bags £24 | 13 to 18 bags £36

Before Collection
If you are leaving any furniture or fabric items out for collection, please cover them to prevent them becoming wet and too heavy to remove.
Sometimes, scrap men may remove some or all of the items before we can collect. Please be aware that no refunds for booked collections are available unless cancelled before 12 noon on the day before the collection date.
