Before you book a collection
If your household furniture is in a good, clean and reusable condition, it may be eligible for a free collection by Renew North Tyneside – a local reuse shop operated by North Tyneside Council, SUEZ and North Tyneside Big Local.
This service is only available for household furniture, which must be:
- Good condition – not broken, torn or damaged
- Clean – not stained or soiled
- Reusable – the item can be used by someone else
- Safe – have appropriate fire safety labels attached and intact
Email recycle@northtyneside.gov.uk to enquire about a collection or find out more about what can be collected. Please note, photos of the items may be required to verify their condition.

Before Collection
If you are leaving any furniture or fabric items out for collection, please cover them to prevent them becoming wet and too heavy to remove.
Sometimes, scrap men may remove some or all of the items before we can collect. Please be aware that no refunds for booked collections are available unless cancelled before 12 noon on the day before the collection date.
