Crisis and Resilience Fund
Providing support to low-income households who encounter unexpected financial difficulty and to provide support that builds longer-term financial resilience and wider community support.
The Crisis and Resilience Fund is funded by the UK Government.
We have received a £2,901,642 grant through the Crisis and Resilience Fund from 1 April 2026 until 31 March 2027
How we will be using the grant:
- Housing Payment – This replaces Discretionary Housing Payments (DHP) from 1 April 2026. Financial support for people struggling to cover their housing costs in the short term
- Those entitled to income related Free School Meals will receive supermarket voucher to support children in the school holidays during summer 2026 school holidays
- Increase crisis support through Local Welfare Provision service
- Community investment in activities that connect and enhance local support such as Warm Welcomes across the borough
- Investment in community social supermarkets, budgeting and advice support to help maximise income, reduce debt and improve long term financial security
