Household Support Fund
The Household Support Fund is a government scheme that provides financial help to vulnerable households to cover essential costs like food, energy, and housing.
We have recieved a £2,837,573.76 grant through the Household Support Fund. This will help households and residents who need it the most up until 31 March 2026.
How we will be using the grant:
- Those entitled to income related Free School Meals will receive supermarket vouchers to support children in the school holidays.
- Schools will nominate children for financial support with school uniform and winter clothing
- Increase crisis support through Local Welfare Provision service.
- Warm Welcomes across the borough.

Criteria
- You must be a North Tyneside resident
- Only one application per household between April 2025 and March 2026
- Have no savings
- Experiencing significant hardship, which means the applicant is unable to meet the immediate short terms needs of their household.
- Previous applications to Household Support Fund will be taken into consideration.
