Training and support
Shared Lives carers receive ongoing support from our dedicated team within Adult Social Care, ensuring you are not alone and feel fully supported.
Training is free and covers essential topics such as:
• Safeguarding adults
• Health and safety
• Infection control
• Supporting people to make decisions (Mental Capacity Act 2005)
• Autism awareness
Additional training may be provided to meet the specific needs of the person you’re matched with, ensuring you feel confident and supported in your role.
The team carries out regular monitoring visits to provide advice and guidance to ensure you feel confident and fully supported
Shared Lives is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the independent regulator of health and adult social care services in England. In our most recent CQC inspection in October 2023, the service was rated ‘Good’ overall and ‘Outstanding’ for caring, recognising the high‑quality, person‑centred support people receive.
