This Policy is made under Article 3 of the Regulatory Reform (Housing Assistance) (England and Wales) order 2002 — Statutory Instrument No. 1860.
The Authority will, in accordance with this Policy, give assistance for the purpose of improving living conditions in the Borough of North Tyneside.
This Policy makes provision for both means tested and discretionary Disabled Facilities Grants and more particularly:-
Means Tested Disabled Facilities Grants

Adaptation Assistance
Discretionary Disabled Facilities Grants

Adaptation Assistance

Relocation Assistance
-
Removal of Category 1 Hazards

Provision of High Value Equipment
-
Maintenance of Mechanical and Electrical Equipment
Assistance may be in any form, financial or otherwise.
Appeals against decisions as to what assistance, if any, is to be given in the normal application of this Policy, should be referred to the Authority in accordance with the section below on appeals and complaints.
