You can enjoy lovely views of the River Tyne, and a friendly Ceremony Team will help you every step of the way. From booking your ceremony to explaining the legal steps and helping you make it personal, they will make sure everything is simple and welcoming.
A Place Steeped in History
For over 200 years, Maritime Chambers has been an important building in North Shields. Many people and stories have passed through its doors.
It was built in 1807 as a library, where people came to read, learn and share ideas. Later, it became the office of Stagline Limited, a family-run shipping company. You can still see the stag sign on the outside, and some old drawings on the windows.
Since 1998, the building has been the Register Office, where many couples have come to get married and start a new part of their lives together.
A Stunning Location
Maritime Chambers is perfectly placed in the cultural heart of North Shields.
Stroll down the new walkway to the Fish Quay, wander along the riverside, or enjoy the nearby restaurants and venues where you can celebrate long after the ceremony has ended.
