I am seeking details about Motor Vehicles that have been registered for public hire, such as Taxis or Chauffeur hire, for the period spanning from January 1st, 2013 to the present date.
Specifically, I am requesting the following information:
1. Vehicle registration number
2. Manufacturer (Make) of the vehicle
3. Model of the vehicle
4. Date when the vehicle was initially licensed
5. Date when the license for the vehicle ceased

Section 42 the Town Police Clauses Act 1847 and Section 51(3) of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 state Councils must maintain a book/register of drivers licenced to drive Hackney Carriages and Private Hire Vehicles and these must be available for public inspection.
The following information is refused in answer to this request under section 21 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, information accessible to the applicant by other means. The reason for this is that this information is publicly available under the above Acts:
• Vehicle registration number, manufacturer of the vehicle, model of the vehicle, date licensed and date ceased to be licensed.
Vehicle Registration Numbers are not being supplied after applying section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act (personal data) following the ICO decision on the 8 March 2019.

Vehicle registration numbers that relate to partnerships or limited companies are exempt from disclosure under section 21 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. The reason for this is that this information is publicly available under the above Acts.
The registers can be inspected by appointment only at the Licensing Office between 9.30am and 4pm Monday to Friday.
