Shop Front Improvement Scheme

Please read the grant criteria document before completing the application form.

Please have the following information to hand as you will be asked for this in the application :-

• Company registration number
• Business rates account number
• The amount and date of any aid /subsidy you’ve received in the last 3 years (state aid).
• Details of the bank account the grant is to be paid into.

We will also require supporting evidence emailed after you have completed the application :-

• A photograph of the current shop front
• Copy of 2 quotations (from a qualified tradesman where appropriate) for all proposed project expenditure, including one from a tradesman based within the borough of North Tyneside - handwritten quotes, SMS/Facebook messages etc will not be accepted, quotes must be on headed quotations or emails
• Copy of a bank statement from your business account dated within the last 3 months
• Copy of lease or confirmation from landlord that there is 1 year remaining (if applicable)
• Any relevant planning documentation

Data Protection

We will use the information you have provided to assess and process your application for this grant.  This will include sharing the data with other relevant Council departments, Government departments and third parties, such as credit reference agencies, for identity and eligibility checks and reporting purposes.

Grant recipients should be aware that they may be contacted for research purposes, and that their data will be shared with North East Mayoral Strategic Authority for research and evaluation purposes.

Fraud

North Tyneside Council will not accept deliberate manipulation and fraud. Any business that falsifies records to gain grant money from this scheme will face prosecution, and any funding issued will be recovered, as may any grants paid in error.

In order to prevent and detect fraud we will undertake a range of checks and which may involve sharing the information you provide with other Council departments, North East Mayoral Strategic Authority departments and other third parties where necessary.

Evidence

To process your application, email the following evidence (images taken with a smart phone are acceptable) to business.grants@northtyneside.gov.uk:

• A photograph of the current shop front
