About NTSP
North Tyneside Strategic Partnership (NTSP) brings people together and works for the borough, aiming to improve quality of life for people in North Tyneside.
It brings together representatives from:
- community and voluntary groups
- police and emergency services
- local businesses and industry
- North Tyneside Council.
- health organisations
- learning providers
- Jobcentre Plus
NTSP was set up in 1999 as a result of central government's commitment to developing new ways of involving local people in deciding how public services are provided. NTSP is one of many 'Local Strategic Partnerships' which have been set up in local authority areas around the country.
NTSP produces a 'Sustainable Community Strategy' which shows what it would like to achieve for the borough in the coming years and how this will be done.
Why NTSP is Needed
In North Tyneside there is a great tradition of working together in partnership. NTSP's strength has been in listening to local people and partners, to gain a better understanding of the borough's needs.
Partners pool their resources (financial, human and other), carrying out a wide variety of initiatives and schemes to improve conditions and services in the borough.
