A clog dancing performance won't be the sole reason to visit North Tyneside's town centres this weekend - there will be balloon modellers too.
On Saturday, July 31, Tyne Bridge Morris, a women's clog dance team, will be performing their traditional clog dance in Whitley Bay and North Shields.
Decorated with garlands and complete with sticks, the dancers will perform along Whitley Road in Whitley Bay from 11am and along Bedford Street in North Shields from 1pm.
Meanwhile, Mister Twister and Magic John will be taking to the streets of Wallsend between 11am and 1pm. The double act will be performing a magic show and modelling balloons in all shapes and sizes.
The events form part of a wide and varied programme of town centre events organised by North Tyneside Council as part of its commitment to support town centre businesses. Further events are planned throughout the year.
Previous town centre events have included special meet and greet appearances with children's popular TV character Peppa Pig, falconry displays, celebrity look-alike personal shoppers, beatboxing demonstrations and steel band performances.
