The Wallsend Golf Course remains open and operating business as usual, under a new agreement North Tyneside Council has leased the Bigges Main site to North East leisure firm Keeping Inn Ltd, which will invest in the facilities and continue to operate them for golf and recreational use.

The handover forms part of a host of sport and leisure developments in Wallsend which, when combined, will mean the area has the best facilities of any part of the borough.

Within the first year of operation, Keeping Inn Ltd will upgrade the golf clubhouse to include refurbished changing rooms, locker rooms and bar. The driving range, club shop and signage will also be improved.
