Adoption

What is Adoption?

AdoptionSome children are unable to live with their birth families for a variety of reasons. For the majority of these children, a permanent family is needed. Adoption can provide that permanence by transferring all parental rights to the child’s new family, this is done by a Court Order.

The North Tyneside Adoption service is committed to finding families for a variety of children of different ages and abilities.

Wherever possible we like to keep brothers and sisters together. Although we are very successful in our family finding, we ALWAYS need more adopters.

Who adopts?

Adopters are all different and we are committed to consider people regardless of marital status, gender, age, culture, wealth, religion etc. We do need to ensure that any child can be kept safe, stimulated and loved. North Tyneside Adoption Service offers excellent preparation and support to assist families in Adoption.

What do I do to become an Adopter?
