Older people's champions
What is an older person’s champion?
An older person’s champion is an individual or member of the older people’s forum who will use every opportunity available to them to:
- Challenge age discrimination and work within their organisations and the community as a whole to take positive action aimed at removing policies / practices which result in age discrimination.
- Ensure that older people are involved and actively engaged in the developing of plans and services.
- Raise the profile and ensure that services consider the needs of older people living in North Tyneside.
