Cycle Map

Cycle usage in North Tyneside has grown by over 80% since 2004 (Monday to Friday only). To further support this growth we have developed a dedicated free cycle map (click on cycle route maps link to the left). By exploring the Borough you will begin to discover just how enjoyable it can be to use your bike for other day-to-day trips.

North Tyneside is criss-crossed with excellent National and International Cycle Routes connecting the whole Borough to leisure facilities and places of interest, including:

NCN 10 Reivers Cycle Route

Heading North Westerly this Historic route travels through some of the Waggonways of North Tyneside from the Fish Quay passing through Redburn Dene, Silverlink Bio-Diversity Park and Weetsade Country Park. You can then cross into Newcastle and Northumberland via Big Waters Nature Reserve.

The NCN 1 North Sea Cycle Route

This international route enters North Tyneside from Blyth passing Whitley Bay Lighthouse, Waves Leisure Centre, Blue Reef Aquarium, Tynemouth Priory and the Fish Quay. You can then head West on routes 10 and 72 to the International Ferry Port, Newcastle Quayside and beyond.
