Spanish City and seafront Regeneration
The regeneration of the seaside resort of Whitley Bay and Spanish City is part of a wider strategy to regenerate the whole of North Tyneside's coast by building upon the many natural assets and existing attractions, including blue flag beaches, historic buildings and leisure facilities, that the coastal area offers.
North Tyneside Council is offering a unique development opportunity in the spectacular seafront area of Whitley Bay. The opportunity comprises the development of a prominent site for a mix of uses.
The site lies within the heart of a major £60m regeneration strategy that is already rejuvenating the seaside resort of Whitley Bay. Key projects already completed include Waves, the £6m refurbishment of the Whitley Bay Leisure Pool, £750k invested in new play facilities including a new skatepark and £8m rebuilding of the Playhouse Theatre.
