Discover a world of information, learning, and entertainment!

We have books, maps, music scores, magazines, newspapers, CDs, DVDs, talking books, videos, and picture books for babies. To find out what we've got and if it is available for loan, you can browse our online catalogue.

You can study, browse, borrow a book, use a computer, and trace your family tree. You can also meet your friends, pursue your hobby, do your homework, or just rest your weary feet. There are regular events such as story times, reading groups and computer courses.

A wide range of information relating to Housing, Revenues and Benefits enquiries is now available from all of our Libraries. More in-depth information and advice is available from our four area based Customer Service Centres or by calling our Contact Centre.

If you cannot easily get to a library, you may be able to use our Books on Wheels or Book Bus service.

You can also check your current loans and renew non-overdue items by using our Telephone Renewal Service. Available 24 hours a day, simply call 0191 258 4875, have your library card ready, then follow the operator's instructions.
