Whitley Park
A new playsite was opened in Whitley Park in December 2007. The playsite was the first project to be completed as part of the wider Spanish City regeneration scheme.
Over 500 local children and young people were involved in the design and selection of the play equipment and the park won the Children's Play category in the Local Government News Street Design competition in 2008.Tthe facility continues to be extremely popular with children of all ages.
Phase 2 works include the installation of street lighting, new paths and access ramp, a fully accessible WC, and a Multi Use Sports Area, which is due to open in August 2010.
